FAQs

Players should register in the age division that aligns with the age they will be as of December 31st of the current calendar year, following the Ontario Baseball Association guidelines. For example, if your child turns 10 at any point this year, they would typically play in the 10U division.
In some cases, based on player evaluations and at the discretion of the coaches, a child may be asked to play up or down an age group to best support their development and team needs.
-
Player evaluations help ensure that each athlete is placed on a team where they can develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game. Evaluations allow coaches to assess each player’s current abilities in areas like throwing, catching, hitting, and overall game awareness.
These sessions are not tryouts — they are designed to help us create balanced teams, match players with appropriate competition levels, and identify opportunities for growth. Attending evaluations also gives coaches a chance to get to know your player and ensure a positive baseball experience for the season ahead.

Registration is done through the TeamSnap app. Once registration opens, you’ll receive an email from Brantford Girls Baseball with all the details and a direct link to sign up.
Parents will also be able to access registration through our website, so we recommend keeping an eye there for updates and announcements. If you're new to the organization or haven’t received an email, please check your spam folder or contact us to ensure you're on the mailing list.

While schedules are subject to change and not guaranteed, typical game nights are as follows:
10U and 14U teams usually play on Monday and Wednesday evenings
12U teams usually play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
Games begin at 6:00 PM, with players expected to arrive by 5:30 PM for warm-up. Final schedules will be confirmed closer to the start of the season.
Please note that, to ensure fair competition, players of different ages will not be placed on the same team upon request. Transportation challenges are not considered a valid reason for siblings or friends to play on the same team. Like in any sport, players must compete at their appropriate age and ability level.
-
Games are hosted at various house league diamonds designated by the Brantford Minor Baseball Association. These may include:
Mayfair Park
Spring Gardens Park
Burnley Park
Resurrection Park
Cockshutt Park
Locations may vary throughout the season depending on scheduling and field availability. Families should plan to arrive by 5:30 PM to allow players time to warm up before games, which start promptly at 6:00 PM.
-
The start of the season depends on when the City of Brantford determines that the baseball diamonds are in suitable condition for play. While this can vary, the season typically begins in early May and runs through to mid-July.
Please note that these dates are subject to change due to weather or field conditions.

Winter workouts are a great opportunity for players to build skills, improve fitness, and stay connected to the game during the off-season. These sessions help athletes sharpen their fundamentals — like hitting, throwing, fielding, and base running — in a fun and focused environment without the pressure of in-season competition.
Attending winter workouts also helps players enter the spring season feeling confident and ready to play, while giving coaches a chance to support their development and identify areas for growth. Plus, it’s a great way for kids to stay active and connected with teammates during the winter months!
-
Winter workouts typically begin in December and continue until the start of the baseball season in the spring. Sessions are usually held on Sunday afternoons at Game Ready Training, located at 14 York Rd. in Brantford, Ontario.
This indoor facility provides a safe and supportive environment for players to stay active and develop their skills. There is also a designated space for parents to sit if they would like to stay and watch the session.
