SCOTT CHAPMAN
Scott Chapman is a long-tenured baseball coach whose career spans more than two decades of leadership across youth, junior, and all-star programs within the Intercounty Baseball Association (ICBA) and the Brantford Minor Baseball Association (BMBA). He is known for his athlete-focused development philosophy and a consistent record of competitive success.
Scott began his coaching career with Brantford Junior Baseball from 2004–2008, specializing in third base, hitting, and infield instruction. Over those seasons, the team earned multiple podium finishes at the OBA Junior Elimination Tournament and a top-five result at the Baseball Canada National Championships.
From 2009–2015, Scott transitioned to field manager of the Midget Tier 1 program within Brantford Minor Baseball, guiding teams to repeated provincial success. His tenure included Baseball Ontario Midget Championship titles in 2010 and 2013, along with finalist appearances in 2014 and 2015. The team also won Intercounty Championships in 2013 and 2014.
During this same period, from 2009–2011, Scott was part of the Intercounty U18 All-Star team coaching staff, serving as field manager in 2010 and 2011.
Scott went on to manage BMBA's U14 Tier 1 team in 2017, as well as the Intercounty U15 All-Star team.
In recent years, Scott has played a significant role in advancing girls' baseball, serving as Director of Girls Baseball for BMBA from 2020 to present. He also served as Field Manager for the ICBA U16 Girls All-Star team in 2022 and continued with the program as an All-Star Assistant Coach in 2024, contributing to the growth of girls' baseball across the region.
Scott's coaching excellence has been recognized repeatedly. His accolades include multiple ICBA Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2013), BMBA Coach of the Year honors (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017), and the prestigious Baseball Ontario Adult Coach of the Year award in 2013. He has also been celebrated by the City of Brantford, earning Coach of the Year recognition in 2014 and finalist status in 2009. Scott was inducted into the BMBA Honour Roll in 2010.
Across every level, Scott is known for his commitment to athlete development, his strategic leadership, and his ability to build competitive, cohesive teams. His coaching career reflects not only sustained success on the field but also a deep dedication to the growth of baseball in his community.
